It's incredibly cool to be able to walk outside and see a random B-52 on final approach. And, of course, the 27 E-3 Sentrys stationed on the base taking off, sometimes, you can nearly reach up and touch them as they turn over the house. On occasion, we do see some "unusual" aircraft. Quite a few C-130s have been coming in lately, most likely for refits or decommissioning before their final flight to the Boneyard in Tucson, AZ, or Death Valley, CA. The old Blue Angels' "Fat Albert" came in last year to be retired. The Blue Angels just got themselves a new C-130J to replace the old one that was retired. We saw it at last year's air show. I think the Thunderbirds are planned for this year's air show in June or July. I know I posted the video of the Blue Angels zooming over the house a few times during last year's show. 😉 Being an aviation nut and a US Veteran, I don't mind the extra noise and traffic it reminds me of what I served to protect.
